Hi to all
Just to inform on the solution concerning tiffs on the remote.
Basically the mounted folder had a permission problem (mounted folder
HiDrive):
drwx------ 3 mruiperez 1100 0 Feb 24 10:11 HiDrive
So, changing the permissions to 777 and things started to work, and the
files appear on the UI of geoserver
Conclusion: Don't Add new storages on Friday evening before leaving the
office

Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] Data Source - Tiffs in remote samba
Ciao Jorge,
this looks like a permission problem for the user that's running the
java process for GeoServer.
For GeoServer using a Samba resource properly mounted on Linux is
transparent, which means, GeoServer does not know anything about it;
this means the problem is somewhere elase (at least IMHO).

Hi to all
I'm running geoserver 2.1.1 (GeoTools 2.7.2 (rev 37473) ) on a Linux VM.
Now, I've to include Geotiffs as Raster data Source that are in a remote
share (Samba) that gets mounted in the Geoserver_datadir
Problem is that when I go to the Add Raster Data Source > Connection
Parameters and I browse for the file the mounted folder is empty, on the
terminal everything is ok and I can access the files (e.g gdalinfo)
Question can't I use Raster Data Source from a remote source ??? Is this
related to the connection parameters mainly URL description ??? Anyone
has an idea on how to deal with this ???
Thank you
Jorge
