[Geoserver-users] "Default Rendering Buffer" parameter issue

Hi all,

I’m using geoserver 2.5 and I need to increase the getinfo buffer for a point layer with the “Default Rendering Buffer” parameter.

After consulting the documentation [1] I have done several tests using the default style “point” with no result. So I tried to explain the parameter in the request:

…&buffer=100&…

and it worked.
What am I doing wrong?

thanks in advance

Michele

Hi Michele,
That should work. There was a change back in August to make it 5 pixels by default.
I’ve just tested it on a recent 2.5 nightly and a 2.4.3, and it’s not working as it should.
I’ve set buffer=100 but the GFI is only giving results up to about 20 pixels.

I’ve opened a JIRA - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-6437 - you’re welcome to add to it if you have further thoughts.

Turns out this is because there’s a “maxBuffer” parameter that is meant to be exposed in the WMS settings gui but isn’t. Instructions on changing it are in the JIRA.
