Hi all,
We have a JDBC UserGroup Service and a Default Role service. Roles are assigned to the groups. This works. But no role is derived from the group to the users - members of the group. Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot,
Michal

Hi
1) Please check if your role service is the current active role
service.
Yes.
2) Assure that the group names in the db are identical to the names in
the xml file. (roles.xml)
Yes.
The role IS assigned to the group. (Please check the attateched file 'screenshot_aagroup.png', group name 'aagroup', role name 'ROLE_aagroup')
But the role is not derived to the group members. (Attached file 'screenshot_aagroup_member.png'. In the "Selected Groups" you see that 'aagroup' is selected. But the 'Derived roles' list is empty.)
Thanks a lot,

Strange. Can you make a quick check using the default user group service (xml). Not sure if this is a GUI bug.

Hi Christian,
when I create group and user in the default usergroup service and assign a role from the default role service, it works fine. When user and group is defined in JDBC and the role is assigned in roles.xml, it fails.
I should note, that the JDBC usergroup service is based on views, not tables, so they are read-only. The roles are assigned by editting the roles.xml.
Thanks a lot,
Michal

View or table makes no difference.
What is the SQL attribute type of your user/group names. Is it CHAR or VARCHAR ?
