[Geoserver-users] Deliver other SRS in WFS-GetCapabilities-Document

Dear GeoServer list members,

sorry for posting again regarding that issue and replying on my own question, but in the meantime I did some recherche. I found that this theme was discussed many times ago like:

https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5683?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/supported-crs-in-wfs-getCapabilities-td5065926.html
http://www.mail-archive.com/geoserver-users@anonymised.com.net/msg12939.html

Reading these threads I got the feeling that there is a demand for delivering other srs in the WFS GetCapabilities. For the GDI in Berlin-Brandenburg it would be also interesting because we need to deliver WFS-Services with other srs and many people use GeoServer here. I read and understand that this is not implemented in Geoserver yet but does anybody have an easy workaround to enable GeoServer to do that or are there plans to implement that in one of the next GeoServer versions? Sorry for bothering all of you with that issue, but I assume that a solution for that issue could be helpfull for many Geoserver users.

All the best from germany.

Sebastian

Hi list,

Is it possible to ask Geoserver to deliver a gzipped WFS response? As fas as I know one can ask for a zipped response in the shape format, but what I want is a normal GML response that is gzipped. Any hint is much appreciated.

Regards,
Nhan

Hi list,

Sorry I forgot to change to subject...

If my mind serves me right,
this is done transparently by default for WFS xml responses.

As far as I know the only reason why this is not implemented is that nobody funded such development, or contributed a patch to implement such support

Cheers
Andrea

Hi Simone,

Thanks for the hint! I can get a gzipped response by simply setting the Accept-Encoding request property to "gzip".

Cheers,
Nhan
