[Geoserver-users] DXF OutputFormat for WFS

Dear list,

In the documentation I found info about a community module: DXF OutputFormat for WFS

http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/community/dxf/index.html

On http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/community/index.html it is stated that this module can be found in the nightly builds (http://gridlock.opengeo.org/geoserver/), but it is not there.

Can someone point me to a working .jar? I found one (2.3), but it crashes geoserver.

Thanks

Bart

I did a quick check, and although it compiles, there were some changes on the 2.4.x WFS output format interfaces, so it doesn’t work anymore. I’m going to try to make it work again and keep you informed.

Thanks a lot

But to save you work, you can also send a working version and tell me what version it works with

Hi Bart,

I suppose some work is needed to make the module work again on 2.4, compiling is not enough. I’ll take a look and if it’s a simple fix I’ll be back with a new jar.

Hi Mauro

Sorry, but geoserver craches again after the install of the jar

· I did a clean install of geoserver2.4.2 under tomcat, and I checked it. It worked

· I copied the dxf jar you sent yesterday to \Tomcat 6.0\webapps\geoserver\WEB-INF\lib

· I restarted tomcat, geoserver can’t be started anymore (see logs)

Thanks if you can find the time to give me advise.

I am so happy someone from Italy is willing to help. I just returned from Italy after working two years in the Varese area. Sorry that I didn’t find the time to learn more than some basic Italian.

Happy to know you liked Italy. Currently I am the original author of the DXF module, so I would be very happy if I can make it work again and if it can be useful to someone :-).

Regards,

Mauro Bartolomeoli

That’s what eventually happens to modules staying long term in community area. Maybe consider pushing it to extension?

Cheers

Yes, we are considering that and we are going to make it happen soon, if
possible.
I got it to work again (Bart I'm sending you a jar to test in a separate
email).
Currently the module has a dependency on the wps extension, so I think we
should split it into two modules, the outputformat itself and the wps PPIO.

Mauro

Hi, if anyone is interested, the dxf community module has been added to the
nightly builds on master and spllited in two jars, one for the wfs support
and one for wps.
I will do the same on the 2.4.x branch soon.
