[Geoserver-users] Dynamicaly resize markers (use own markers in style)

Hello,
Another newbie question. I could not get how to use my own markers for a SLD. I have some PNG icons on my server that I want to use. Also when I use i.ex. “burg” I get the flags showing up but they are just as big when the map is zoomed out as when zoomed in. How do I make the markers go tiny when I am zoomed out and get bigger when I zoom to a certain level?
Thanks!

This is not easily supported, either. For an easy way we'd need to support SLD 1.1 and symbol sizes expressed in meters.
Unfortunately atm we do support only SLD 1.0, which specifies icon
sizes in pixels only.
A workaround can be to define different rules with min/max scale
denominator limits, and have each one use a symbolizer with a
different pixel size, but that gets overwhelming pretty soon
(you'd have to define many rules to provide a good looking
effect).

Cheers
Andrea
