Hi Patrick,
I would also suspect a conflict with the different versions of the
geotools epsg database. However... the 900913 definition does not
actually come with the geotools database. It is supplied by
"user_projections/epsg.properties" which is located in the geoserver
data directory.
I am curious to see the behavior with a projection that is defined in
the geotools epsg database and not supplied via the data directory. If
you could try one of those projections that would be helpful.
Past that i can try to replicate your setup on my machine to see if i
experience the same problem. Feel free to open an issue in teh bug
tracker for this one.

Hi all,
I´ve a Geoserver 1.5.3 running under Tomcat 5.5.25 with jdk5.
Later I've added a Geoserver 1.6.0 rc2 in the same tomcat, so I've
deployed both geoservers in the same tomcat.
I've added some shapes with EPSG:23030 to the 1.6.0rc2.
I'm using MapBuilder 1.5 rc1 and trying to show Google Maps layers with
the shapes.
The request made by Mapbuilder to GeoServer 1.6.0 rc2 is:
http://localhost:8080/geoserver6/wms?bbox=60687.88994399136,5980992.07504559,638638.5665979871,7309104.400378973&styles=&Format=image/png&request=GetMap&layers=topp:myShapeLayer&width=800&height=426&srs=EPSG:900913
<http://localhost:8080/geoserver6/wms?bbox=60687.88994399136,5980992.07504559,638638.5665979871,7309104.400378973&styles=&Format=image/png&request=GetMap&layers=topp:myShapeLayer&width=800&height=426&srs=EPSG:900913>
Which is asking a reprojection to GoogleMaps SRS: 900913 for the shape
layers
And I obtain the next error:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
<!DOCTYPE ServiceExceptionReport (View Source for full doctype...)>
<ServiceExceptionReport version="1.1.1">
<ServiceException code="InvalidSRS">No code "EPSG:900913" from authority
"European Petroleum Survey Group" found for object of type
"CoordinateReferenceSystem".<
/ServiceException>
</ServiceExceptionReport>
I've installed a new clean tomcat only with Geoserver 1.6.0rc2 and it
works fine, there is no error, so I'd like to know where the problem is.
I guessed it could be the folder in temp/Geotoools/Databases/HSQL, that
comes from 1.5.3 and doesn't contains 900913 projection for Google Maps,
so I tried to overwrite this with the 1.6.0rc2 data but didn't work.
I'd like to have Geoserver 1.5.3 and Geoserver 1.6.0 rc2 running over
the same tomcat.
Can anyone help me??
Thanks.
