I have created a table in postGIS using the geography type. I get errors when trying to display using Geoserver 2.5:
An exception occurred while parsing WKB data
Unknown WKB type 238
Does GS not work with geography type?

It does, and we have tests covering that. But 238 is not an official
geometry
type for WKB:

What kind of geometries do you have in there? Curves maybe?
We don't support them yet (only for Oracle at the moment, starting
with GeoServer 2.6.x)

The geographies are multipolygonZ, the coordinates are all 3d, but the z values are all ‘0’. I created the table as type geometry, and the values are entered with ST_GeographyFromText…I don’t know how WKB could get in there.
