[Geoserver-users] Geoserver 1.3.0-RC6 Released

GeoServer 1.3.0-RC6 has been released. Please give it a try.

A major addition includes the ability to output GML in which each feature contains a '<gml:boundedBy>' element, which is configurable.

Special thanks to Magne Skjeret (who now has full commit status) and Saul Farber for their contributions.

And thanks to everyone who helped out with the release.

You can download it here:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOS/Latest

Here is the changelog:

* support for Java 5
* option to output verbose GML (boundedBy element per feature)
* handling of form-based POST requests
* Oracle spatial support for MultiPoints
* Fast SVG Renderer - support for heterogeneos geometry types

For GML2 did you make the schema extend BoundedFeature (rather then just Feature?)

Congrats! Welcome to the team Magne!

I just had a distrubing email about MultiPoints, is seems that when rendered with a PointSymbolizer just
the "centroid" is rendered. I have not been able to confirm this yet.

* Fast SVG Renderer - support for heterogeneos geometry types

FireFox 1.5 is apparently going to have SVG built-in! This would be a great combo.

Thanks Guys!

For GML2 did you make the schema extend BoundedFeature (rather then
just
Feature?)

I didn't explicitly do this, but I'm not sure GML2 has that distinction?
Or rather, I think BoundedFeature just makes the bounds mandatory, but
it's always an optional element in a normal Feature. I suppose it
would be slightly better to let really smart clients know they can
expect a bounds by reading the schema, but I don't think there's any
clients that smart out there.
