Couple of things at a quick glance for SDE stuff,

1. Should Commons-pool.jar be bundled with arcsde plugin for future releases? Seems as though this is the only one that requires the library

2. The latest builds of the plugins didnt include arcsde

3. Using the latest available arcsde-plugin + commonspool ... connection still fails to SDE 9.1 + Ora 10g with the following

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.geotools.data.arcsde.PooledConnection.getLayers()Ljava/util/List;

Hrm. I wonder if this might be a side effect of building with our new 'dummy' jar (so we're not violating any licenses).

Gabriel or Saul, have you had a chance to try out RC2 and the arcsde jar? Can you check if it works for you, and if not then maybe send Brent a recently built jar that does work so we can upload it?

Sorry for the hassle Chris, thanks for your patience. This would be much easier if we convinced ESRI to open source arcsde :wink:

Ok, trapped out the problem being a binary incompatibility due to the dummy
api. Fixed it but getting problems doing the test suite to pass.

Will address it later tonight.
In the mean time it would be needed to remove the download of the arcsde
plugin from sf. Is it possible?

Gabriel.

Gabriel or Saul, have you had a chance to try out RC2 and the arcsde
jar? Can you check if it works for you, and if not then maybe send
Brent a recently built jar that does work so we can upload it?

Sorry for the hassle Chris, thanks for your patience. This would be
much easier if we convinced ESRI to open source arcsde :wink:

Brent, thanks for uploading but i'm still getting the same error when
adding the store using RC2,

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.geotools.data.arcsde.PooledConnection.getLayers()Ljava/util/List;

.. this is with the common-pool.jar 1.3. I am currently using the older
sde plugin from 1.3 but would love to test out any GT improvements

I dont suppose anyone else has tried the newer plugin on their
environment?
