[Geoserver-users] GeoServer 2.4.1 Installation is not running

Hello,

We have had an issue with the migration of 2.3.2 to a 2.4.0 series.
The version 2.4 did not correctly transform the context.xml in the security subdirectory.
We copied the context.xml from the default data directory of Geoserver, replace this in the 2.4 version
and restarted geoserver.

Now geoserver started, we redefined part of the security set-up and the version was running.

Best regards,

Eric

GeoServer 2.4.1 Installation is not running

Hello GeoServer Contributors,

Today I made an update from a successfully running version 2.3.2 to the new one 2.4.1.
I installed GeoServer 2.4.1 with the Windows Installer.

OS Win7 x64
Oracle/Java SE 7u45 (Build 1.7.0_45-b18)

Now, GeoServer isn’t running.

The following error message shows during an attempt to open geoserver url…

“HTTP ERROR: 404 NOT_FOUND RequestURI=/geoserver”

Note: I have restared the Start/Stop several times & also restarted the PC.

HTTP ERROR: 404

NOT_FOUND

RequestURI=/geoserver/

The Java RE update from jre-7u25-windows-x64 to jre-7u45-windows-x64

There is no GeoServer entry in windows Control Panel → Administrative → Services.
There is no log file in the GeoServer installation folder.
You can find the report from GeoServer start in the attachment.

Can anybody help me?
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,

Toni

Did you still have your old security setup? If so, can you open a jira
ticket (jira.codehaus.org) and
attach it to it?
Upgrading should always be seamless, any hiccup is a bug

Cheers
Andrea
