Hi all,
I have a problem using ArcSDE extension with Geoserver 1.7.5 (Windows
XP).
I want to connect Geoserver with an ArcSDE 9.3 service.
I followed these
instructions [1], downloaded geoserver-1.7.5-arcsde-plugin.zip and copied the
contained .jar files in WEB-INF/lib directory of the GeoServer installation.
Then I tried to obtain the external files needed. In the esri support page [2]
I was able to download only the jpe_sdk.jar but not the jsde_sdk.jar for the
ArcSDE 9.3 version.
I used the one I found in the official installation dvd of
ArcSDE 9.3 and copied both jar files in WEB-INF/lib directory.
When I restart
Geoserver and try to create a new Data store, I can't find the ArcSDE option
between the other Feature Data Set Description types.
Am I doing any mistake?
Are there any compatibility problems with 9.3 version? Can I provide other
information to help understand the problem?

Io ho un problema simile con
Geoserver 1.7.5 e ArcSDE 9.3, cioè
nell'ultima patch nel sito esri [2],
seguendo le istruzioni trovate
qui [3]
riesco a scaricare solamente il file
jpe_sdk.jar e non
jsde_sdk.jar (che
però ho visto essere presente nei file
relativi alla
patch di ArcSDE 9.2).
Questo credo non mi permetta di
vedere tra le opzioni per creare un
nuovo datastore quella relativa a
ArcSDE.
E' una mancanza di ESRi o per far
funzionare la cosa con la 9.3
bisogna modificare qualcosa in Geoserver (o
solo nelle istruzioni di
installazione magari)?
Hmmm... non lo so,
mai avuto a che fare con SDE
personalmente.
Gabriel Roldan è lo
sviluppatore che si occupa di SDE, ma
non parla
italiano. Credo che il
datastore SDE venga testato contro una 9.2.
Puoi girare la stessa
richiesta sulla ml utenti in inglese? Altrimenti
chiedo lumi a Gabriel

the i jar non ci sono
e che vanno presi dal java sdk
di SDE (che è
disponibilie insieme
all'installazione di SDE, non so dove).
