I’ve read with interest that there is a GeoServer project underway to implement the GeoTools DataStore interfaces for SQL Server Spatial:
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/SQL+Server+2008+DataStore
I know it is early days but am wondering whether it’s possible yet to estimate whether that is expected to be released in the GeoServer 1.7.x or 2.x timeframe?
Hi Graeme,
Tough to say... its not something that is yet officially on the road map. What is needed is to either have a volunteer developer implement support for it, or to have someone who is wanting to a pay for it.
If i had to guess, i would say it would be more likely something in 2.x. However if someone did show up it would be prioritized.
