You may wish to talk to Gabriel (who is the “module owner” for arcsde support). I know his organisation offers commercial support as well.
As I understand it you can override the setting in geoserver; in order to publish your layer with a valid epsg code. I know it is a bit of fun translating between ArcSDE, EPSG and SRS (spatial reference system) used by WMS.
Other than that join the geoserver users list for these kind of questions.

Hi there,
Sorry for the cold email, but I hope you don’t mind help a lost soul!
I’m trying to connect a SDE10, Oracle 11g with a Geoserver (Latest RC2).
I manage to install all perfectly, and my geoserver can see my ArcSDE plus all the layers there.
My problem is when I try to add a layer, geoserver don’t recognize the espg from ArcSDE, what is ok, since SDE don’t work with espg codes…, my main problem is Geoserver need to know the original espg codes to work!
Is on that I need some help… I can edit manually the gt-epsg-wkt jar file to match my WKT in the sde layer, but I’m not sure that will work… and for other side you guys probably already know a solution for this problem!
Can you help me with this problem please? Thanks.
