Nice. You can also convert the x,y,z directly to a WMS bounding box so you
can make a Non-GWC WMS request. That way you can use dynamic non-cached
layers in Virtual Earth Silverlight. Check out the code in the
GeoWebCache--it does all that Math

Actually, and at some point we'll have to make a parameter dictionary with all these darn features, you can just append &cached=false (and metatiled=false too, if you like).
Barely mentioned at the bottom of http://geowebcache.org/trac/wiki/google_maps , the GeoServer plugin should allow cachebypass by default.
