It looks like the WFS url is the same as the WMS url, bar the defining parameters to choose between WFs and WMS. I will see what Geostore come back with.

Hi Steven,
Hmm, I don’t know if Geoserver can handle arbitrary parameters then. That URL certainly works with things like OpenLayers and QGIS.
Of course, the EA service isn’t the most useful - everything is blue (including woodland!) because they’ve not bothered styling most of the layers properly. You might want to try the WFS instead, though I don’t know the URL for that.

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan
Thanks for this, I’ve also have a userid and password as I want to use it to get the Floodzone data, but the url is not liked by Geoserver.
I’ve raised a call with GeoStore for some advice on this too, so I’m hoping I might get an answer from them!

Hi Steve,
The EA stuff requires a username and password too (because obviously they can’t just let everyone access public data easily). There’s also an “interface=environment” that seems to be required.
Try this:
http://www.geostore.com/OGC/OGCInterface?INTERFACE=ENVIRONMENT&UID=UDATAGOV2011&PASSWORD=datagov2011
(Note: Haven’t tried it myself in GeoServer, but works in our OpenLayers app)
Username/password straight from the source for the data.gov.uk wms
Kind Regards,
Jonathan

Hi
I am trying to use the Remote WMS connection within Geoserver to connect to
Environment Agency Data in the UK. The main url I am aware of is:
http://www.geostore.com/OGC/OGCInterface? but Geoserver does not appear to
like this.
Am I putting this in incorrectly or does anyone know what the correct url
might be for connecting to remote WMS connections such as this one?
Thanks
Steve
