Hi All,
I have some problems with the parameter InputTransparentColor in the
Geoserver ImageMosaic plugin.
Without this parameter the image borders of the grid are white instead of
transparent.
So i followed the instructions in the Geoserver guide
(http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/tutorials/image_mosaic_plugin/imagemosaic.html)
in order to reduce the effect.
But when i set:
InputTransparentColor = FFFFFF
I receive an error in the map rendering.
The log of the error is:
Error rendering coverage on the fast path
org.geotools.data.DataSourceException: Unable to create this mosaic
Unable to create this mosaic
- Unable to render RenderedOp for this operation.
Any idea to solve this issue?
Thank you!
WIN 7 PRO 64 bit
Geoserver 2.4.4

No answer..
Means that i'm facing a bug?
Or maybe i didn't explain the problem very well?
Maybe. With a couple of attachments, i can explain better the problem.
Attachments:
1.The result of the wms layer with the borders:

It just means you're too impatient, you reported the issue on Friday night
and it's just Saturday,
it's a lot easier to get an answer during working days.
Let's check again if you don't get an answer by Tuesday or Wednesday.
In the meantime, if you haven't done so already, have a look at the
GeoServer user list
posting guidelines:

Cheers

Ah, so the input is a binary image. Then you might be facing this problem:

Thank You Andrea,
I didn't want to say anything else but a joke when i wrote about the absence
of answer in my post. i wanted just to add some images that could be useful
to solve the problem.
BTW.. I was right! it's a bug!
It's exactly the same of the link you sent me.
I changed the depth of the tiff palette color to 8bit and in this way
GeoServer works fine.
The problem now is the dimensions of the files which pass from 1MB to 35MB.
Do you think that the only way is to wait for a resolution of the bug?
Michele
PS: Don't worry, i'll not expect an answer before monday! (sorry again)

No, there are two other ways (but you might not like them
):
* the source code for GeoServer and GeoTools is there, maybe you or someone
in your organization can provide a fix
* you can provide funds for the fix to one of the organizations providing
commercial
support for GeoServer, here:
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/Commercial+Support
Cheers

A tentative fix should be in for 2.5 as well as for 2.4.
Check tomorrow’s nightly build.

Hi Simone,
I'm glad to tell You that i installed the nightly version and it worked!
It seems that everything is ok.
now i'm doing some test to check if there are any problems, and in case, i
will report them to you soon.
I can't find the words to say thank you to you and Andrea.
It's the first time that i write here and it was enought for me to know that
i was doing the right procedure for my case. It was already good to have a
workaround to solve the problem.
Now it's really incredible to find the solution in only few hours.
I'm sure that this fix will be usefull also for many others that use the
tiff, since the binary tiff is very common (as far as i know).
I'm sure we'll meet again soon.
Bye for now and thank you!
Michele

Ciao Michele,
thanks for the feedback, however don’t get too excited, you were lucky that I needed that fix for another project
Joking aside, it’s always good to get some positive feedback.
