[Geoserver-users] [Geoserver newbie] how to show custom icons on a map

Hi all,
I’ve been using Geoserver since some weeks and I would like to attach icons on a map obtained via http using the WMS getMap capability.

How can i do?

For example I would like to obtain a map telling the server where to place an icon?

is it possible?

p.s. sorry for my bad english!

can you explain what you mean by attaching icons? Are you talking to
watermarking the generated maps?
