[Geoserver-users] Geoserver outside localhost

Hallo, I`m quite new with geoserver and I have a brief question. What must I
do to have access to geoserver outside the localhost surrounding? When I
replace localhost with my IP adress nothing happens.
Thank you!

There's nothing you have to do in Geoserver itself. But I would check
your local firewall settings (if you have one). For example, I'm behind
a small router. To make geoserver visible on the internet I have to:
* open the 8080 port in the windows firewall
* configure the router to do source nat so that hitting the external
ip address on 8080 redirects the call to my pc
* use the external ip address in my calls to geoserver.

Hope this helps
Cheers
