hello everybody,

i've already succeded in adding data as wms to geoserver from postgres,
but got some problems in creating a wfs. hopefully somebody can help me out.

first i added a "web feature server" in datastore and put in
"WFSDataStoreFactory:GET_CAPABILITIES_URL:" the server url
(http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wfs). so far everything is fine.

then i created a new "featuretype" and chose my data with styles etc.
from postgres. altough there's no errors till now, i can't save. if i
try to apply and save the whole configuration (pushed the two buttons on
upperleft) it hangs with:

        acceptVersions:

Result:

i waited half an hour but nothing. what am i doing wrong? somebody got a
hint?

Hi,

What you do is totally different thing that you believe. "Web feature server" datastore means using another external WFS service as source of data (cascading WFS). You want to use your PostGIS as datastore and deliver data from there through Geoserver WFS in a similar way you are already doing through WMS. Actually, if you are aiming to use the same PostGIS data you have everything ready, just start sending WFS requests to your WFS. In standard installation if will be at localhost:8080/geoserver/wfs.
