[Geoserver-users] GeoServer WPS implementation

Dear all,

I have followed the tutorial on the WPS implementation and created a simple
WPS process in Java.
Now I would like to call an existing WPS process, like "gs:Clip", in order
to utilize the result inside my Java class process.
Is it possible? How can I do it? Do I have to call a specific method or
class?

Thanks for the help.
Matteo

Hi Matteo,

you may call the Process directly by instantiating it, in your case ClipProcess cp = new ClipProcess(), and calling the related execute() method.

You may find all the available GeoServer processes inside the gs-wps module or inside the Geotools gt-process* modules (there are more than one gt-process module).

Nicola Lagomarsini.

Hi Nicola,

thanks for the fast answer.

I tried the ClipProcess example you posted and it works.
Then I tried to instantiate the "geo:buffer" process but I can't find it.
So, I was wondering if there is a fast way to know the module and the class
to instantiate for an existing process.

Thank you again.
Matteo

Hi Matteo,

you can try using the Processors.getProcessFactories() method which will return all the ProcessFactory implementations. Each ProcessFactory contains a list of Process and can return a new instance of the Process you require, if present. Anyway you may find all the processes in the GeoServer/Geotools modules I described above.

Hoping it helps.
Regards,
Nicola Lagomarsini.
