I'm trying to install the new geoserver1.5-beta2 on a ubuntu edgy.
I have installed the jai and imageIO.
I have jdk
1.4.2.13
1.5.10
1.6
Geoserver works only with 1.4.2.13
Any idea

None. On my windows box it runs fine with all of them.
Have you installed JAI and JAI Image I/O in all the above jdk?
We have had persistent issues with people trying to run Geoserver
on Ubuntu due to permission management, it may be the packages
are doing something fun with JAI as well... Well, time to install
Ubuntu in a virtual machine and check I guess.
Anyways, what are the error messages you get with 1.5.10 and 1.6?

Hi Andrea,
Did you install jai manually or did you do it through the package manager. The reason I ask is because I run gentoo and when I installed jai via portage it only picked up the "system vm". And I had to install jai in the other jdks manually.
Just a though.
