Hi All
I am trying to use the Geostyler with my 1.7.2 but it seems to cause the Startup to fail.
I have unzipped the RESTFUL zip file into the ‘lib’ folder
however this download seems to be for 1.7.1
would this make a difference?
should i unzip the files into a different location for 1.7.2
thanks for your help

Hi Tim,
there was just an avalance of emails coming in, I hope this is not one that got stuck on the mailinglist.
You do need to get the 1.7.2 version. I only updated that tutorial [1] on Thursday or Friday, you're right it used to lead you straight to the 1.7.1 download.
If you still have the 1.7.1 archive, please delete the files it unpacked, get the 1.7.2 version and unzip that. Then restart GeoServer.

Hi,
you might also beware of this:
inside http://svn.opengeo.org/geoext/apps/styler2/trunk/script/Styler.js
geoserver links are all hardcoded to url:"/geoserver/wms", so every
time i installed styler it didnt work from first time (because i
usually put different name for geoserver, i believe other people also
do that)...but one has to go inside Styler.js and search/replace the
paths to match your installation folder
Cheers,

Good practice, IMO, anyway in Linux environment is to name different Geoserver version with special names like gs172 and to create a symbolic link from geoserver to that special name on demand basis. Like 'ln -s gs172 geoserver'. That way your current Geoserver version will always be available under name geoserver.
