I have developed a web map application by using Geoserver 2.4.0 and tomcat 7 in Windows XP.
I have configured the GeoWebCache Data Directory in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\webapps\geoserver\WEB-INF\web.xml file as shown below.
GEOWEBCACHE_CACHE_DIR
C:\temp\gwc
And I have enabled the Dist Quota in Geoserver.
Then I have checked in Tile Layers page in Geoserver. It shows some size of the layer as shown below but It did not match with the actual size of the folder in GeoWebCache directory.
Afterthat I have performed some zoom in, zoom out and panning. Then I checked the same, newly created tiles size reflected in both as shown below.
I have enabled GeoWebCache and configured GeoWebCache data directory and did some zoom in, zoom out and panning process and cached tiles were stored correctly at the GeoWebCache data directory. But I did not enabled the Disk Quota at that time of testing GeoWebCache data directory. Now I have enabled Disk Quota and did the same zooming operations then I found some contradiction in size between Folder and Disk Quota page. Is there anything I missed out in configuration…?
-1- diskquota does not update instantaneosly
-2- I kind of remember that there might be aslight difference in how diskquota measured the used space with respect to what windows does, but honestly I don’t remember.
-3- If you enable/disable multiple time disk quota I would clean everything up before doing the kind of comparisons you are doing.
