Hello again,
I’m not sure if it just me, but the documentation for super overlays and GeoWebCache isn’t working for me. I’m completely confused now.
Starting with the GWC readme.txt, I copied the Jars, restarted GS. Then it says to try:
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/gwc/service/ve?layers=topp:states&quadkey=02
Well, my RC4 didn’t like that, couldn’t find any sort of ve service. 404 error.
So, onward, found this:
http://geowebcache.org/trac/wiki/google_earth
It says:
Using GeoWebCache with GeoServer is as easy as changing the URL. For example, if your application requests WMS tiles at the following URL:
http://example.com:8080/geoserver/wms
To invoke GeoWebCache, use:
http://example.com:8080/geoserver/gwc/service/wms
As soon as tiles are requested through GeoWebCache, it automatically starts caching them. These tiles are stored by default in the %GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR%/gwc
path, with each FeatureType in its own subdirectory. As more tiles are requested for each FeatureType, the size of this directory will grow.<<
Well, I have a working WMS in 4326 for my mosaiced MrSids at:
So, I tried the above suggestion:
It gets a 404 error.
I tried a few more things, but nothing seems to work.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks!!
