[Geoserver-users] GetFeatureInfo on Raster layers

Hi,

Is it possible to return attribute information on raster layers?

To give examples, I want to know if you can return the source filename for image mosaic layers.

I would also be interested in knowing if the GeoServer is able to read Exif tags in photos etc.

Best Regards,

Paul

For a raster the attributes tend towards red, green and blue values.

No, I don't think so. But if you added the index layer as a layer you could
do getFeatureInfo requests against that.

Thanks Ian,

So nothing in the http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/tutorials/imagemosaic_timeseries/imagemosaic_time-elevationseries.html tutorial will help me then?

Thanks,

Paul

Not there, but you could write a PropertyCollector reading the exif tags and the like, so that they
are added to the index, and then indeed publish the index via WFS.
If it’s a mosaic that’s the way to go, if we are talking single images it seems a bit complicated, but
still, there are no other ways, exposing other types of coverage properties would be possible, but
also quite a bit of work (read them in the reader, store them in the coverage, change featureinfo
to look for these extra attributes)

Cheers
Andrea
