[Geoserver-users] GetFeatureInfo text/plain UTF-8

Hello,

I am facing some trouble with GetFeatureInfo responses from GeoServer (2.6).

In fact as far as charset is not defined for GetFeatureInfo responses , my GIS desktop applications (QGIS 2.6 and MapInfo 11.0) don’t manage well special characters. Whereas It works well with QGIS 1.8.

Then I added <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"></meta> in the header of my GetFeatureInfo template, so it solved the problem with text/html responses but not for text/plain responses.

Is there a solution to specify charset for GetFeatureInfo text/plain responses?

it makes the charset http header added for
all text/xml based responses.
However, it has not been backported to the stable series (2.6.x) yet, the
change is not small, a vote would probably be required

Sorry, my description was deceiving. What we have on trunk works also for
GetFeatureInfo with plain text output.
I'm just not sure if anyone with commit access will push for a backport of
those changes next month, when
a backport becomes possible (large changes need to sit on the dev series
for a month)

Ok thank you.

I hope this modification will be include in the next release.

Until that day we will use GetFeatureInfo with text/html responses.

It will be included for sure in GeoServer 2.7.0, to be released March 2015.
Not sure about 2.6.x and 2.5.x, it may or may not get there
