[Geoserver-users] gml:featureMembers

Hi All,

I am using GeoServer 1.7.0 with GML-3 data and WFS 1.1.0 interface.
The response to a GetFeature request contains an array of features
encoded in gml:featureMembers. Is there a way to change this to the
old-style (and somewhat wasteful) collection of gml:featureMember
elements?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes it would be possible, but not trivial to implement. We would probably have to add a configuration option to allow people to configure the server to switch between the two. And then hook the option up to the actual code that writes out the feature collection.

Feel free to file a feature request in the tracker. If others have a strong opinion they can add their voice to it and if it picks up enough steam it will probably get implemented. Faster routes would be to pay someone to implement it. Or if you are a coder we would be happy to offer guidance on how to implement it yourself.
