[Geoserver-users] Google Earth & WMS Layer

Hi,

I'm trying to display WMS layer on the Google Earth.
This is the WMS query:
http://10.0.0.55:8080/geoserver//wms?service=WMS&request=GetMap&format=application/vnd.google-earth.kmz+XML&width=1024&height=1024&srs=EPSG:4326&layers=topp:sedbasdd&styles=sedimentaryBasins&KMScore=30&KMAttr=true

The problem that I'm facing is that the layer doesn't scale at all.
In other words when I zoom in or out it doesn't adjust layer image, so it looks very *pixelated *and unclear.

Is this normal behavior or am I doing something wrong?

Thanking in advance,

Sasa

hmm....
I'm far from being an expert, but:

- don't understand why you get 'pixelated' if you're requesting KML
- Geoserver wiki says GE 4beta has problems rendering our links
- My be it is just a matter of not specifying the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameter,
but to tell google earth to use "view based refresh"?

take a look at the following page if already didn't:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/Google+Earth

hopefully someone with more experience will jump on later

regards,

Gabriel

oh, I see. Because it is kmz. Sorry

Hi Sasha,
Make sure that when you create the network link that has your WMS request that you specify the refresh parameters to be "after camera stops" and set the delay to a second or two. This will make google earth send a bounding box parameter along with the WMS request. This will also re-request the WMS request.
