[Geoserver-users] Goolge Earth:: WIDTH and HEIGHT incorrectly specified

Hello list,

I have an shapefile in SRS 4326 which is presented fine in the mapbuilder preview.

When I am trying to see this layer through Google Earth I get the following Error:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?service=WMS&request=GetMap&format=application/layer_0.png
Error: WIDTH and HEIGHT incorrectly specified

I am using GeoServer 1.5.0-RC

Can anyone knows what is going wrong ?

not sure if your problem may be solved by this but you need to specify
the width and height in the URL itself - and the bounding box too -
add this to the url too:

&width=1024&height=1024

you also need to specify the layer, style, srs and (depending on your
app) other variables

e.g. I have a shapefile loaded into postgis in topps:hospitals layer
with and bounding box values and style retrieved from the
config->data->featuretypes page and i need to give the following url
for it to give me a kml file:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?request=GetMap&layers=topp:hospitals&styles=poi&srs=EPSG:4238&width=1024&height=1024&format=application/vnd.google-earth.kml+XML&bbox=-96.94338186601934,43.49572480044824,-90.26927331127673,48.872180713157135&nbsp

Hello gpio,

I had the same problem with geoserver 1.5

Geoserver 1.4.0 does however not have this problem.

Which RC are you guys working with? For RC2 we had a few google earth fixes.
