[Geoserver-users] GWC and Java wrapper

Hello List,

I have an issue with my current setup:

Geoserver 1.7.2

Windows Server 2003 (WebServer)

Utilizing preloaded instance of GeoWebCache

Geoserver is running as a service using the Java-Service-Wrapper

Oracle XE (datastore is remote, on a desktop)

My question is this:

I have been having major problems with Geoserver throwing the Heap Out of Memory error when trying to view a parcel layer via GeoWebCache and Geoserver is running as a service.

If I view the same parcel layer (same datastore config) on another instance of geoserver that is NOT running geoserver as a service with the java wrapper, it works just fine.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Thomas,

I recently responded to this one, see http://www.nabble.com/GWC-with--Java-Service-Wrapper-td22296960.html#a22296960

I don't know much about the wrapper, CCing Mike again, perhaps he has some input.

I have never had any luck with the Service Wrapper, although it's on my list of things to play with when time permits and I can pull someone who understands Java better than I to help me test. Sorry to not be of more help right now.

Thomas,
I just ran into the same problem, but in the wrapper.conf I changed these:

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)
wrapper.java.initmemory=64

# Maximum Java Heap Size (in MB)
wrapper.java.maxmemory=1024

Seems to be working somewhat better...

Roger
