[Geoserver-users] gzip

All,

I'm using GS 1.3.0. I'm trying to output compressed GML by using
"format=GML2-GZIP" and it doesn't work; that is, it still returns regular
uncompressed GML. Returning a shapefile also doesn't work. Any ideas?

Upgrade to 1.4.0-RC2.

And actually we're working through a few more issues with these, returning better names of the files being made by GeoServer, should be in RC3.

Hi Stephen
This was a bug but has been fixed now. You can try out the latest 1.4.0-RC2 version and it should have it working: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOS/GeoServer+1.4.0-RC2
