[Geoserver-users] Hi and question.

Hello people

I’m newbie…

I have an shp (with shx,dbf and prj)

Dbf structure

Have

GEOCODIGO, NOME, AREA_TOT_G

Geocodigo= the shape code

Nome= name

Area_tot_g= total area

I have the info but how could I make a map with both the name and the area.

Also want to make an degrade of colors ( if the area is greater than 150000 blue, if is between 150000 and 1000000 red, etc…).

There is any way to take de shp info for the polygon and link them to mysql database?

Thanks

Eduardo Barasch

I would first check out the following tutorial:

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/User+Tutorial+Shapefile

Also want to make an degrade of colors ( if the area is greater than
150000 blue, if is between 150000 and 1000000 red, etc..).

Both of these are done with "SLD", the styling language used by
GeoServer. In your GeoServer installation (I assume you are running from
the windows exe), look at <geoserver
install>/data_dir/styles/popshade.sld for an example.

The easiest way would be with ogr2ogr. See
http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_mysql.html for an example.

Check out that info and let us know if you have any more questions.
