[Geoserver-users] Hiding Layergroups

Hi List,

Is there an option or possibility to hide unwanted layer groups from seeing with client?

We are using workspaces to separate different customers, so we can allow them seeing only layers we want without authenticating to all the necessary layers. In workspaces we have layer groups to group similar kinds of layers. There is also a layer groups which act as a layers and those are inserted into layer groups which are categorizing similar layers. When connecting the WMS-service with a client I see these layers (and layer groups) and layer groups nicely in tree format, but at the bottom of the tree there are also those layer groups which are built to act as a layer. Is there any way to hide these “layers”?

I believe not... for the layers we have the "advertised" flag, but there is
no equivalent for layer groups.
Should be easy to implement though

Unlikely, unless someone pitches in some resources to make it happen.
