[Geoserver-users] How to create user on Geoserver

Hi.

I want to create users and get list of users from Geoserver. In RESt API i can’t find anything about it. Maybe its possible make using php?

Any advices?

There are several different security plugins available, each backed onto a different system. Most assume you have direct access to the machine, or are making use of an external service you have admin access to such as LDAP.

Given the variability of implementations I do not think a REST API is defined, or even a good idea. Checking the source code:

  • sec-cas - has a org.geoserver.security.web.cas but no REST implementation

  • sec-jdbc - as above
    -sec-ldap - as above

The answer is simple, there is no REST API for the security subsystem. It is a matter of time, as always.
