Hi List,
I'd like to query a layer in GeoServer and get a JPEG/PNG map in a fixed
scale.
I'm using OpenGeo Suite 4.0.2 running on Ubuntu precise.
To give an example with the usa:states layer that came with the Suite,
The following preview gives the states layer in OpenLayer format.
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/usa/wms?service=WMS&version=1.1.0&request=GetMap&layers=usa:states.44&styles=&bbox=-179.23023299999997,17.831509000000036,-65.16882499999997,71.437769&width=702&height=330&srs=EPSG:4326&format=application/openlayers
In the above map request, it need to enter the bounding box of the layer and
the width and height of the map but not the scale.
What I'd like to have is,
when I select the New Jersey state, the map should show only the selected
layer, full New Jersy State in 1:1M scale.
when user select another state, New York, the map should show only the
selected state, fulll New York state in 1:1M scale. in new width and height.
The BBox will keep changing according to the selected feature.
What I'd like to have it keep the map scale constant and change the BBox,
width and height.
Could you please suggest/guide how can I do it?
I'd like to use it on a web interface to show the state map and the state
information (coming from another database) together.
Thank you very much for any help in advance.
