[Geoserver-users] How to show ARCSDE layer in Geoserver?

Dear list.
I want to see ArcSDE Layers using Geoserver and openLayers.
so, I installed the ArcSDE Geoserver Extension and created an ArcSDE DataStore(for ArcSDE Vector-data layers)
So, If I clicked New in DataStores, I can see ArcSDE in Feature Data Set.
Moreover, I can make new Feature Data Set ID using Feature Data Set Editor.
What I am wondering is that after make new Feature Data Set ID, I moved Demo and Map preview. but, I can’t see the layer.
How to show ArcSDE Layer such as other layers in Map Preview?
Thanks in advance.

Best regard,
Jeong.

Check your datastore configuration, it may be "disabled".

Dear Andrea Aime.
Thanks a lot.
I checked my datastore configuration. It is enabled.
I attatch capture images of Feature Data Set Editor and Mini-map preview of the enabled FeatureTypes.
First of all, I made feature dataset ID : river, Feature data set : ARCSDE.
Next, I submit it and click apply button, save and load button.
There are not any error messages.
but, I can't see river on the mini-map preview.
even though I can't see river on the mini-map, How can I see thr river layer in ARCSDE?

This is quite strange. The two reasons why a layer does not show
up in GeoServer preview are usually that the datastore is disabled
or that the layer is missing a geometry property (and thus there
is nothing to display).

Gabriel is our SDE expert. Gabriel, do you have any idea?

Hi,

I've no idea why you can't see the layer you just configured, but lets take a
shoot at it.

Sorry I'll have to ask some stupid questions, but is the only way I can
realize what's actually going, by first ensuring its not just the cord being
unplugged.

first, tell me which geoserver and arcsde version are you using, and what
rdbms arcsde uses as backend (oracle, mssql, etc?)

so, did you configure an arcsde datastore and then configured a featuretype
out of it, and hit apply?

Please set the logging level to the GEOTOOLS_DEVELOPER_LOGGING profile and go
configure your feature type agan, then send me the log file, it should be
located in your <geoserver_data_dir>/logs/geoserver.log

Best regards,

Gabriel
