[Geoserver-users] HTTP ERROR: 503

Hey everyone,
I am new to Geoserver and am having some issues. I am able to get Geoserver installed and running because I see that java is using port 8080, but I cant get in to Geoserver administration to save my life. If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Hmmm... which url are you accessing, can you try:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/welcome.do

503 means the server is overloaded or undergoing maintainence. How have you installed GeoServer? Is it running standalone in jetty, or have you installed the war in Tomcat or some other servlet container?
