[Geoserver-users] http://localhost:8080/geoserver/ not working?

Hello,

I recently just installed Geoserver and I tried to go to the admin page:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/

But nothing on my screen come up in Firefox, and in IE7 I get a 403 error.
Anyone have any idea why this is not working?

Thanks!
Christina

Hum, a 403 error usually means you're now allowed to access the resource
you asked for. Strange.
Can you report how you installed GeoServer (windows installer, .war, .bin?), which platform, which java version ("java -version" on the console) and also check out the GeoServer logs to see if there is any
exception?
If you installed with the windows installer the logs will be in
geoserver/data_dir/logs/geoserver.log, if you used the .war they
most probably be in the exploded .war file, see geoserver/data_dir/logs/geoserver.log (or if you set a data directory
using a environment variable, look in your custom data dir).

Cheers
Andrea
