[Geoserver-users] I need geo-data

Hi all,
I am looking for a basic map of the world to use in my application.
I need to colAor countries and cities based on some criteria so I am using SLD. Therefore I need a server that
supports describeFeatureType . I have geoserver installed but still need the DATA
any suggestion pleas?

The VMAP0 dataset should be ok for you needs. You can find the original
dataset here:
http://earth-info.nga.mil/publications/vmap0.html
and a version already converted into shapefiles here:
http://frederic.cs.dal.ca/pub/STDW/VMAP0/

Pay attention to the license thought, there may be some usage limitation.
