Hi all,
Andrea made reference in another message to a GeoServer feature which I’d dearly like to use, but can’t figure out how.
I used gdal_retile.py and its -tileIndex feature to create a folder full of GTiff files from a moderately huge one, along with a .shp file purporting to index them. (FYI, the command I used was:
gdal_retile.py -levels 2 -targetDir dane_tiled -tileIndex dane_tiles.shp -v -ps 2048 2048 dane.tif
“dane.tif” is the name of the big GTiff, dane_tiled is a previously-created folder. I got some 1300 tif files out of the effort; a bunch of them are in dane_tiled (e.g. dane_04_05.tif), and a smaller set in dane_tiled/1. Each folder has a .shp, .dbf, .prj, and .shx file associated with it.
If I add the .shp file as a FeatureType, I get a nice display of boxes.
But when I try to add the folder as a CoverageStore using the ImageMosaic plugin, I keep getting “invalid url” messages. The URL looks like:
file:coverages/dane_tiled/dane_tiles.shp
First off, any reason why that should be? I also tried following the instructions in “Using the ImageMosaic Plugin” under “GDAL” to make a dane_tiles.properties file, but got the same error.
I noted in a previous message about this topic that Andrea said GeoServer should be able to create the .prj and .shp files itself, if you just provide the folder where the .tif files live. So I also tried that, with and without a trailing slash, with and without the existence of my .properties file.
Any ideas? I’m pretty well flummoxed at this point.
Oh, and if I add the sample mosaic as a new CoverageStore using the ImageMosaic plugin, I get no errors.
TIA!
