[Geoserver-users] Importing/Customizing Bulk Shapeiles

Hi there. I have ~100 shapefiles that I would like to import into GeoServer as DataStores/FeatureTypes. I'm looking for a sane way to do this. Speaking with those much more in the know brought up REST and its ability to import cleanly through the command line, but apparently (correct me if I'm wrong) post-import customization appears to be either broken or incomplete.

Things I would like to do once these shapefiles are loaded.

1. Change/set projection (not default)
2. Change/set namespace (ditto)
3. Change Name/Title/Abstract
4. Set SLD (all already uploaded)

I'm sure that someone has encountered this. If you could point me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, I had the same problem and came up with a simple solution, which you
can customise to suit your needs.

Cheers,
Stoyan.

P.S. I hope you like Python
