[Geoserver-users] Inserting schema.xml for FeatureType has no effect for WFS Version 1.1.0

Hello List,

I found out that inserting the File schema.xml for FeatureType has no effect
for DescribeFeatureType-Requests in WFS Version 1.1.0.
Is this correct?

I have got the Problem that I have to specify the GeometryPropertyType to
LineStringPropertyType when I use the Oracle-Plugin to prevent inserting
Features with other Geometries than LineStrings.

Is there any possibility to do that?

Thanks a lot
Tim

Hi Tim,

Changing it to schema.xsd should do the trick. Although it is not something we promote all that much since its a bit of a hack.

All: I never quite understood what schema.xml did. I thought it was linked to the UI somehow, but something that never got properly hooked up. If indeed it should be support we have a regression here.

Hi Tim,
I'm a newbie to GeoServer and am having problems getting it to play nicely
with Oracle.
The only table I have been able to get to work properly has been a test
table in which I enforced the geometries to be points .. I am starting to
come to the conclusion that GeoServer's Oracle support is limited - does
your post suggest that you are having similar experiences?
