[Geoserver-users] JAI1.1.3 seems to have disappeared...but necessary for geoserver install?

Hello,

Per creating an optimized geoserver build on my windows server, I’ve tried to install JAI as an addition to my JRE. Unfortunately, it seems to have disappeared from the Java website!

The previously migrated link seems to not be functional: http://download.java.net/media/jai/builds/release/1_1_3/
Same with JAI IO tools: https://jai-imageio.dev.java.net/binary-builds.html#Release_builds
The direct download link also doesn’t work anymore… http://download.java.net/media/jai/builds/release/1_1_3/jai-1_1_3-lib-windows-i586-jdk.exe
Same with all those others on the documentation, and the other places I’ve found online.

I’ve only found a JAI repository with the .jar file, but a .exe is super preferred (for obvious reasons).

Any word on the status of JAI? I’ll be doing a lot of raster processing, so I’m guessing I shouldn’t just forge ahead with installing geoserver without it?

Best,

-Anthony D.

Hi,

this JAI link seems working fine for me:
http://download.java.net/media/jai/builds/release/1_1_3/jai-1_1_3-lib-windows-i586-jdk.exe

JAI-ImageIO is available here:
http://download.java.net/media/jai-imageio/builds/release/1.1/

Maybe it was a temporary network issue or connectivity problem.
Could you try again?

Regards,
Daniele
