Hi GeoServer users, I was trying to install Geoserver on Ubuntu Linux and I had a little problem:
My JAVA_HOME is defined, I know because when I type “echo $JAVA_HOME”, it says: /usr/local/bin/jdk1.6.0_06/bin/java
But when I try to run startup.sh I read this message: “The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly
This environment variable is needed to run this program”
If any knows what could be happen please tell me.
Thanks in advance.

Define it as:
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/bin/jdk1.6.0_06
