[Geoserver-users] Java Service Wrapper and gdaljni

Simone,

I ran the windows installer available at:

https://imageio-ext.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=10450&expandFolder=10450&folderID=10450

and I don't get any dll files. I see a bunch of jar files and some configuration files.

Can I use version 1.0.2 of these libraries? They seem to have dlls available.

Ronak

You will not be able to access a certain number of formats.
For reference see:

So will I lose any functionality as a result of the gdal native libraries not being found? I remember reading that JPEG2000, NITF and a few other formats are only supported through GDAL.

Is this true?

If I will lose functionality, I would like to yse the gdal based extension.
I will look for instructions on how to install those with the service wrapper.

Ciao Ronak,
unless you are willing to use the gdal based extension you are free to
ignore that message.
Notice, however, that it is simple a warning to tell people that gdal
native extensions won't be installed.

Hi,

I'm trying to use the Java Service Wrapper to start Geoserver as a
Windows Service.

I installed the Java Service Wrapper as per the instructions at:

http://geoserver.org/display/GEOSDOC/Windows+Service+Wrapper

However, I see that the java.library.path variable gets overwritten by
the wrapper.conf from the service wrapper.

This results in Geoserver spitting out errors:

jvm 1 | WARNING: Native library load
failed.java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: n
o gdaljni in java.library.path

What do I have to do to get rid of these errors? Should I use the
imageio-ext libraries on Windows? I don't really see any dlls in there
when I expanded it...

Anyone else experiencing this problem?
