This is a long shot (I did not find anything while searching), but here goes:
Has anyone encountered the following problem while running GeoServer? The question is whether upgrading from 1.6.0_06 is likely to solve the problem.

We've been having segfault issues on Redhat Enterprise 5 (64bit), JVM 1.6.03, and 1.6.13. Not quite the same crash though:
*** glibc detected *** /usr/local/java/bin/java: free(): invalid pointer: 0x00002aab10946e80 ***
Haven't found a solution yet.
