[Geoserver-users] KMZ and GoogleEarth on Linux

Hi,

i got a question about kmz and the Linux Client of GoogleEarth.
At home i got a Slackware 11 Box and at work i’ve installed a SUSE 10.0.
On both Systems fetching the kmz data from a network link end with an error message

Fetching Network Link…
…" no element found"

It is the newest version of GE. On Windows the NetworkLinks works fine with geoserver.
Anyone got an idea about that?

Regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

I just tried it on my Gentoo install and it worked ok. What version of
GeoServer are you using? Also what is the network link you are using?

Hi,

…Now i know the problem. Its not the data or a problem with the kmz format.

The GoogleEarth Client on Linux sends another Client identifier. i dont know where the sense should be by doing so.

That was the problem, im looking up the Client identifier to prevent from “taking” data with the browser for example.

By a fluke a found that thing, cause i never thought GE will do so…sending the identifier in dependence of the OS.

Jan

Cool, there are some instructions at the bottom of the page describing
how to add a FAQ entry. And there seems to already be a section for KML.
You could just add it under there.

Thanks!!
