Hi!
Is there any way to render a label with followLine=on if the label doesn’t fit on the line (the line is too short for the whole label) ?
A fallback to followLine=off would be a nice feature in this case.

As far as I know, there isn't
A fallback to followLine=off would be a nice feature in this case.
Agreed... I guess it would have to be an extra option, I personally would
not consider a tiny line with a very long label a good output,
but would not mind a bit of overshoot (we'd need some sort of "goodness of
fit" for lines, to allow people choosing how much of
overshoot is acceptable).
