Has anyone figured out how to do this?
I didn’t see anything in the SLD specification.

You know, I was just thinking about this last week myself. The SLD spec actually has a snippet that says:
<Label>Thisiscity"<ogc:PropertyName>NAME</ogc:PropertyName>"ofstate<ogc:PropertyName>STATE</ogc:PropertyName></Label>
The label param should handle mixed content, as the xml schema that defines it allows for it.
But I tried to get that to work in udig/geoserver last week and it only ever reported the first PropertyName.
Ian or uDig guys, does that labeling just not work? Or is there some way to get it to pick up the mixed content?
If not, we probably should consider implementing, it'd be a nice feature to have.
best regards,
Chris

quite possible that I didn’t implement it right.
